More than one year extended lifetime of ESPs without interrupted by scale problem.
CHALLENGE. One field under Pertamina E&P in South Sumatra Province have numbers of wells used electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems. The ESPs increased the production rates, but the wells had a history of short ESP run times with a maximum run time of three months, compromised by the formation of calcium carbonate scale in the pumps. The scale build up reduce fluid flows, dramatically affect pressure, plus create flow blockages.
In some extreme cases, pump failures occurred in a matter of weeks from replacement and start up. It results in major increase in money spent on replacing equipment. Pertamina E&P was highly motivated to extend the pump run life.
The flowline is clean, NO scale deposition, and NO production decline for MORE than one year.
CHALLENGE. One field under Indonesia’s Pertamina E&P located in Jambi Province, was having severe issues with calcium carbonate scale deposition in their production tubing, flow line and separation equipment. Scale deposition occurred on the equipment daily. In average, the production starting to declined in two months. Lately, Acid jobs were even performed about every one months. This resulted in a loss of production, high chemical treatment costs, and high remediation costs to remove the scaledeposition. Due to these ongoing challenges, the customer asked if Dupara could determine a suitable treatment and allowed Dupara a field test for observation.
Helps Fields to Maximize Production Capacity
CHALLENGE. Our customers, seek to increase production through the management of downhole operations that focus on prevention of downtime to effectively sustain production capacity. Our field engineer travelled to their field to meet with the team and begin installation of an INSAFE Scale and Corrosion Prevention System in a well in a mature onshore oilfield. Originally drilled since the 1930s, the well was being upgraded and ESPs introduced to the field to sustain production capacity of the ageing field.
Installation in Surface Facilities
CHALLENGE. In the technical discussion, they are asked for specific requirements for a tailor-made solution to combat scaling issues in their field. Dupara engineers and customers team INSAFE in surface facilities and develop custom size on INSAFE which not met by our manufacturing standards and typical applications.
Remove trace amounts of H2S from the off gas stream
CHALLENGE. Late in construction of the household gas pipeline network, a study from appointed consultant revealed the unfavourable small amount of very rich H2S load in gas gathering outlet. This might cause significant health, safety, and environmental risks for more than 4,000 household in the city. The project owner and contractor had not accounted for this condition in the original design.
